BrainTok — Privacy Policy

BrainTok ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android application published by GGames Softworks. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

TL;DR: We don't have a server. We don't collect your personal data. Everything you do in BrainTok — your saved facts, reading history, streak, chosen avatar — stays on your device. The only external service the app talks to is Google AdMob, which shows the ads that keep BrainTok free.

1. Data stored on your device

The app stores the following information in your device's local storage (localStorage / app-private storage). This data never leaves your device and is not visible to us:

The nickname you enter on first launch
Facts you've read ("seen" history)
Facts you've saved (liked)
Your current and best streak
Chosen avatar, language preference, reminder time
Unlocked achievements, share counter
Whether you've made the "Remove ads" in-app purchase

You can wipe all of this at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete profile. Uninstalling the app also removes it.

2. Data collected by third parties

2.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

BrainTok shows ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process the following information in order to show relevant ads and to measure ad performance:

Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / AAID)
Approximate location (derived from IP address)
Device information (model, OS version, language, network type)
Ad interaction events (impressions, taps)

This data is collected and processed by Google under Google's own privacy terms. For full details see:

On Android 13+ you can reset or delete your Advertising ID from Settings → Privacy → Ads. On older versions, the equivalent is under Settings → Google → Ads.

If you make the "Remove ads" in-app purchase, AdMob is no longer loaded and none of the above data is collected.

2.2 Google Play Billing (in-app purchase)

If you choose to buy the "Remove ads" option, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not see or store your payment details — all we learn is whether the purchase succeeded. See Google's privacy policy.

3. Data we do NOT collect

BrainTok does not collect, store, or transmit:

Your real name, email address, or phone number
Your contacts, calendar, photos, or files
Your precise location (GPS)
Your browsing history outside the app
Analytics events of any kind
Crash reports

The app has no login, no cloud sync, and no social features.

4. Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, Android schedules a local notification on your device at the time you chose. The notification is generated locally — nothing is sent from our side. You can turn it off anytime in Settings → Daily reminder, or via your device's notification settings.

5. Children

BrainTok is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. The app contains ads, which is why we do not recommend it for younger children.

6. Your rights (GDPR / EU users)

Since BrainTok does not collect personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. You exercise your rights directly:

Access / delete your local data: use Profile → Settings → Delete profile in the app, or uninstall the app.
Opt out of personalized ads: Android system settings → Ads → Delete advertising ID or Opt out of ads personalization.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be posted at the same URL with an updated "Effective date". Material changes will be announced via the app's "What's new" release notes.
